Privacy policy

This guide loads Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra advertising by default on your first view. The banner tells you what runs and lets you withdraw: Reject turns those tags off and remembers the choice for 180 days.

What loads, and when

On a first visit, with no stored choice, the page loads Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra (Native Banner and Social Bar) without waiting for a click. A YouTube player is different: it starts only after you press Play. The cookie banner is a notice and a withdrawal control, not a gate.

Press Reject and the page stops loading Clarity and Adsterra, hides the Social Bar, and records the refusal for 180 days. The page then reloads to end already-running vendor scripts; Google Analytics 4 is also omitted on that reload and on later visits while the refusal is valid. The footer link Cookie settings opens the banner again so you can change the choice at any time.

The site stores your choice in localStorage. Vendor scripts can set first-party cookies on this origin, as described below.

Third parties this site actually loads

  • Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC), Measurement ID G-73GJ4M0YXC. Aggregate page views, sessions, referrers and approximate location. It runs on the first view; Reject reloads the page and prevents subsequent Analytics requests for 180 days. Legal basis: legitimate interest in measuring readership, and consent where local law requires it. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. Opt out of measurement with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
  • Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation), project z67mu6y0ra. Heat maps and session replays used to find broken layouts and confusing pages. Clarity masks form input and other sensitive content by default. It runs on the first view and is not requested after Reject. Legal basis: legitimate interest in improving the guide. Privacy statement: privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement. You can review or clear Microsoft advertising and analytics identifiers at account.microsoft.com/privacy/ad-settings.
  • Adsterra (Adsterra Network), publisher 3403020, website 6164184, Native Banner unit 32015081 and Social Bar unit 32015082. The Native Banner sits between the article and the footer; the Social Bar is the fixed bar at the bottom-right. Adult ads are switched off for this site. It runs on the first view and neither unit is requested after Reject. Legal basis: legitimate interest in funding the guide, and consent where local law requires it. Privacy policy: adsterra.com/privacy-policy.
  • YouTube (Google LLC), embedded through www.youtube-nocookie.com. A trailer player exists on some pages but its iframe is created only after you press Play; no YouTube request is made before that click. Once it loads, YouTube may set its own cookies and apply its terms. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

The measured first-view requests use www.googletagmanager.com and www.google-analytics.com (Google Analytics), www.clarity.ms, scripts.clarity.ms and regional *.clarity.ms collectors (Clarity), and bicea.org (both Adsterra units). An advertising creative may request additional delivery hosts after it arrives. ads.txt declares only Adsterra, the one seller with inventory on this site.

Personalized advertising and how to opt out

Adsterra may serve interest-based advertising unless you reject it here or opt out with the industry tools. These industry tools provide additional advertising controls; each service lists its participating networks:

Reject on this site is the simplest switch: it stops the Adsterra units from being requested at all for 180 days. Opt-out cookies from the links above are separate and may need to be renewed when you clear cookies.

Consent, GPC, and your requests

No stored choice means the default posture: analytics and ads load, and the notice is shown. Reject writes a denied record for 180 days and is the withdrawal. Accept writes a granted record for 180 days. Cookie settings in the footer reopens the notice. If the browser sends Global Privacy Control, or Do Not Track is on, the record is written as denied and a click does not override it.

The inline Consent Mode defaults set ad storage, ad user data and ad personalization to denied until the page script applies your choice; analytics storage is granted for the default measurement described above. The Adsterra loader reads the same localStorage record before it creates either unit.

You can ask for a copy or deletion of mail you sent to [email protected], and you can object to analytics or advertising at any time with Reject. The choice record is on your device; clearing site data removes it. Legal basis for the mailbox is the request you send. Changes to this policy are posted on this page with a new updated date.

Questions

Do you load ads before I click Accept?

Yes. Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra load on the first view by default. The banner informs you and offers Reject, which turns them off for 180 days.

Do you sell personal data?

No. The site runs one ad network, Adsterra, for its own inventory and does not sell data itself.

How do I open cookie settings?

Use Cookie settings in the footer. The banner reappears and you can choose Reject or Accept again.
