Closed beta sign-up opened on 28 July 2025
The official notice opened closed-beta applications at 09:00 UTC on 28 July 2025 and closed them at 01:59 UTC on 3 August 2025. The test itself ran from 02:00 UTC on 7 August to 01:59 UTC on 12 August, for 10,000 selected people.
Who could join
The notice capped the test at 10,000 people chosen from applicants. Devices had to be iOS 15 or later with 4 GB of RAM, or Android 11 or later with 8 GB of RAM. Tablets were excluded. Those numbers are the beta’s hardware line, not a release spec.
Sign-up was not the same thing as a public download. After 12 August 2025 the client was no longer the live test. Anyone offering an APK of that build is outside the notice.
What the notice did not say
It did not publish a winner list, a retention figure, or a promise of an open beta. The September survey is a separate notice. I keep them apart so a reader looking for “beta download” lands on a closed event and a pointer to pre-registration, which is the live action in 2026.
